If you’ve played our free 1-2-3 FLIP IT! with your child, you will be excited to use 1-2-3 SPELL IT! It’s a bit more challenging than 1-2-3 FLIP IT! and in our bundle pack, you’ll find game boards for several different phonics patterns.
How to Play:
1-2-3 SPELL IT! is played in a similar fashion as Uno. Each player gets 7 letter cards. The object is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. The way you get rid of your cards is by playing a letter card from your hand on the game board that will spell a REAL word {only real words are allowed}. Once you’ve spelled the real word, you must read it. Both players must agree that it is indeed a real word! Players take turns in this manner until one player is out of cards. Further directions are on the first page of the download.
In the deck, I’ve also included these Wild Cards. If a player has a Wild Card in her hand, she may substitute it for any letter {consonant or vowel} to help her create a real word on the board. When a player plays the Wild Card, she must tell what letter the Wild Card represents, then she must read the word created.
